"WOW" if you didn't watch the Northern Rail Cup Final, what a game! Like most, I didn't see it coming. Halifax turned on a special performance to beat Featherstone and that now makes them a leading contender for top honours.

On Friday 17th August 2012, Halifax visits Leigh Centurions, in our first home game for many weeks at the LSV, in what we believe will be one of the crucial matches in the final stages of the tournament.

Our win against Halifax in the Northern Rail Cup last year, along with picking up a brilliant double over them some weeks ago, in the process knocking them out of the Challenge Cup, will without doubt have them fired them up for revenge.

We expect this to be a cracker of a game and we hope that our supporters really get behind the team to give us the very best chance of success.

As a club we have stated our intentions to apply for Super League, through our ‘We Beleighve’ campaign, and whilst the competition 'hot's up' we must look at maintaining ground on the two clubs that have also pledged their ambitions and chase the one title that has more influence on who wins on or off the field.

It's been far too long since we last had a home game and what better way to get down to the LSV than a battle with the new Northern Rail Cup champions, if you are able please don’t forget to fetch a buddy to the game, like you they will love the experience. So get your diaries out and mark this date down because you don't want to this one!
