Junior Centurions Programme
This programme provides fun and constructive sessions designed to give an insight into the rules of rugby league as well as establishing or enhancing passing, handling and integrating fundamental movements. Teamwork, motivation, fair play and self control are also promoted through the programme.
The aim of the coaching cohort is to ensure that all participants understand and are able to demonstrate the following information, key skills and components.
- 1.1 Know how to grip and carry a ball correctly
- 1.2 Know how to catch and pass a ball correctly
- 1.3 Know how to Play The Ball correctly
- 1.4 Know and understand how to play tag rugby
- 1.5 Have knowledge of why WU and CD are important
- 1.6 Have knowledge of the muscles used and how to stretch
- 1.7 Be aware of good agility, Balance and coordination.
- 1.8 Be aware of local clubs running in the nearby area.
- 1.9 Have a better knowledge on diet and nutrition
Fit Programme
Designed for infant school children aged reception - Y3, the programme aims to take the basics of rugby league and use them to increase participant's teamwork, listening, co-ordination and balance skills through fun games.

- 1.4 Develop good agility, balance and co-ordination
- 1.5 Know that WU and CD are important 1.6 Experience basic tag games
Active 4 Fun Programme
This programme strongly focus' on raising physical activity levels, the principles of LTAD in terms of coaching delivery and ensuring all activity links to local sports clubs helping to increase their memberships. Rugby League will be the main sport taught however in the ages relating to fundamentals a multi-sport approach to the coaching will be taken.
The project will also establish and promote school-club links which will aid the programme, deliver healthy lifestyles messages as part of the sessions providing life skills, use sport as a vehicle to address social behavioural issues, empower teachers and coaches to deliver their skills and training and a mentoring programme for community members.

HIGH SCHOOLS
- 1.1 Grip and carry the ball correctly.
- 1.2 Ability to demonstrate the correct passing and catching technique.
- 1.3 Utilise the correct play the ball technique and when to apply the skill.
- 1.4 Understand and demonstrate the three stages of tackling technique i.e. approach to contact, contact and contact to floor from different angles.
- 1.5 Understand the role of the marker position and when to apply it.
- 1.6 Kicking the ball using different kicking styles i.e. punt, chip and grubber.
- 1.7 Ability to demonstrate fundamental movements including agility, balance, coordination (ABCs) and speed.
- 1.8 Understand and apply the above core skills and rules in a game situation.
- 1.9 Understand the key rules and demonstrate the ability to abide by them in a game situation.
- 2.0 Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of warm up and cool downs.
Girls Get Active
The programme delivers physical activity opportunities via a variety of community sessions to young females aged 11-16 years old. A strong focus is provided towards raising physical activity levels, through the principles of fundamentals, grass roots rugby league. The programme will also establish and promote community club links which will aid the sustainability of the programme has a long term effect on the local community including delivery of healthy lifestyles messages.

- 1.3 Utilise the correct play the ball technique and when to apply the skill.
- 1.4 Understanding the differing forms of non contact rugby tag, touch and progression to contact rugby.
- 1.5 Kicking the ball using different kicking styles i.e. punt, chip and grubber.
- 1.6 Ability to demonstrate fundamental movements including agility, balance, coordination (ABCs) and speed.
- 1.7 Understand and apply the above core skills and rules in a game situation.
- 1.8 Understand the key rules and demonstrate the ability to abide by them in a game situation.
- 1.9 Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of warm up and cool downs.
- 2.0 Be aware of opportunities to participate in rugby league both in schools (champion schools) and out of school (local amateur clubs).
